We weren't created thirsty...., but we were born thirsty. Thanks Adam and Eve --- we have a lot to discuss when I get to heaven! We weren't created thirsty because our thirst is directly related to our desire for God. In the beginning, we enjoyed the presence of God daily, and thus we had no need to thirst for God. Adam met with God daily in the cool of the day and communicated with the father. Then, there was the fall of man which brought about the separation between the creator ands creation. We, who are born in sin, which is all of us, were born with a thirst for God. Some of us try to fulfill our thirst for God in artificial ways such as our jobs, our relationship, and maybe even the things we do within our churches. Thirst is natural for the believer and the non-believer, although in different ways. For the non-believer, it void and emptiness that can't be fulfilled in any other way is what initially draws us to Christ. For the believer, it keeps us in the presence of God. As the deer pants for the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee. My soul thirsts for God..."
